1944 GAZ-67B Command Car (the USSR)

Early in the year 1943 the command cars GAZ-67 rolled off the assembly line of the GAZ named after Molotov. In comparison with the GAZ-64 which was produced in 1941-42 (a total of 684 automobiles were made), the new vehicle got simplified front fenders. Already in October of 1943 a modernized version of the car GAZ-67B appeared, the main distinction of which became an expanded wheel tread up to 1,445 mm and widened rear wings and that version got most of the popularity in the family. Till the end of the war about 2,500 of the GAZ-67 and the GAZ-67B were produced. The manufacture of the GAZ-67B notably increased after the war —by the autumn of 1953 89,992 vehicles of the type were built. In 1949 the design of the front part was altered: the grill became pressed as well as the hood was remade.
