The moped МV-042 “Lvovyanka” was developed by the designers of Lvovsky plant of motor-cycles in 1962 to replace the model V-902. The Lvovyanka has got a one-cylinder two-stroke engine D-5 of operating capacity 45 cm3 (the diameter of the cylinder is 38 mm, the piston stroke is 40 mm). The degree of compression is 6.0. The engine D-5 accelerates the power 1.2 hp at 4,750 rev/min. It is provided with a carburetor K-34.
The main value of the new vehicle lies in the frame construction — a basic element defining its appearance. The frame of the Lvovyanka is a bearer and one-piece one, of П-shaped profile. Such construction simplifies its manufacturing technology.
In 1965 they began to produce an advanced model MV-042М.
