1939 Moto Guzzi Alce 500 Militare (Italy)

Moto Guzzi 500 Alce was an Italian motorcycle produced by the Moto Guzzi between 1938 and 1943 for the Armed Forces.
The Moto Guzzi 500 ALCE, simply famous as the Guzzi ALCE was for the first time used in PAI (Polizia dell'Africa Italiana), but then it was employed at all the fronts where Italian Armed Forces fought. The mechanical quality of this model was very high. Its successful implementation in the sands of Libyan Desert and the hardness conditions of Russian steppes testified to it.

Designed to replace the GT 20 model, it was produced in the quantity of 6,000 units in a single-seat, two-seat, with a sidecar and even three-cycle versions. The last one named Trialce was capable to carry on the platform the multi-purpose cargo of up to the weight of 400 kg – mobile radio stations and dismountable onboard units, to transport the wounded, machine guns and the equipment of any type.
The Moto Guzzi Alce was provided with a single-cylinder (with a horizontal cylinder) 500 cc engine of 13 hp and it could transport about 178 kg of load at the speed of 90 km/h. The fuel tank of 13.5 l capacity allowed the motorcycle to ride for a distance of 300 km without being refueled.
