1939 SC МК I Dingo Armored Motorcar (the UK)

This armored car was made by the Daimler firm. The Daimler, the Humber Motor and the Canadian Ford companies produced 6,626 armored cars of this type in all versions within the period from 1939 till 1945. The motorcar had anti-bullet armor protection. All the wheels were running. The Dingo armored motorcars were widely used in reconnaissance and headquarters units of different military forces in English and Canadian armies as communications and scout vehicles. The characteristic feature of the car was that the steering column as well as the driver’s seat were set at an angle with its longitudinal axis, thus, the driver moving back could turn and look backwards through an open panel of the rear cab wall without twisting the whole body. It was an all-wheel drive car and the torque from the transfer gear was transmitted to each wheel with the use of an individual driveshaft. The independent suspension with spring dampers provided a permanent ground contact of all four wheels regardless of their relative positions.
