1942 Volvo НВТ (Artilleritraktor m/43) (Sweden)

In 1940 the Swedish Army bought 24 German half-tracked movers Domag D7 (Sd.Kfz.10). These vehicles were made operational under the brand name Artilleritraktor m/40 (Arttrak m/40), they were used as the tractors of the 105-mm howitzer leFH 18 (Swedish index is 10.5 cm haubits m/39, altogether 142 pieces) bought in Germany. In 1942 the company Volvo developed a Swedish analog on the base of the Sd.Kfz.10, which got the brand name Volvo НВТ. That automobile had a big payload (2 tons) and towing effort (up to 5 tons), it was easily distinguished from the Sd.Kfz.10 by the other design of the hull nose. The mover entered the Swedish Army under the Artilleritraktor m/43 designation, a total of 108 vehicles were produced from 1940 till 1944. Those automobiles were in service in Sweden till 1956.
