1935 GAZ М1 Passenger Car (the USSR)

In February 1935 the design project of the passenger car started which had to substitute for the GAZ A on the assembly line. As in the case with its predecessor the automobile received the name GAZ M1 appeared to be a developed version of the Ford brand car, in this particular case “Ford B”. The automobile was supplied with a modernized 4-cylinder engine from the model GAZ A, the power outwork of which was raised up to 50 hp. The GAZ M1 received a closed four-door body that surpassed significantly the GAZ A in comfort. Also the car was produced in the pickup and cabriolet variants, besides, the model with a 6-cylinder engine (GAZ M11) and an all-wheel drive version (GAZ 61) were manufactured. A total of 62,888 automobiles of the GAZ M1 range were produced from 1936 till 1941.
