1893 Benz Vis-a-Vis

Dating from 1893, the two or three-seater Victoria and four-seater Vis-à-Vis were the first four-wheeled automobiles built by Carl Benz. Their fundamentally new design had been made possible by the kingpin steering system improved by Benz, permitting the two front wheels to assume different cornering radii and therefore the vehicle to negotiate bends more safely.
