"Luca di Montezemolo"
Single Model on order of Avvocato Giovanni Angelli to Pininfarina as wedding gift of Luca di Montezemolo, the owner.
The Ferrari 360 (successor of the 355) was produced between 1999 and 2005, and has a 3586 cc engine, which, with its 400 hp, is capable of reaching 300km/h (186 mph) with an acceleration of 0 – 100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 4.3 seconds. It also has an impressive brake capacity, as the car is capable of going from 200 – 0 km/h (125 – 0 mph) in less than 5 seconds.
It was the first Ferrari to be built entirely of aluminium (chassis and body work), which makes it, at 1390 kg, suitably light for a sports car.
Several models were produced; the coupé, known as the ‘Modena’ and the convertible known as the ‘Spider’, alongside 3 race models (360 Challenge, 360 GT and 360 GTC). Additionally, in 2003 they unveiled the Challenge Stradale model, which, while it was much sportier (110kg lighter than the Modena, alongside various other improvements), it was approved for road use.
The Ferrari 360 Barchetta (a one-off!) was a special model which Gianni Agnelli, boss of Fiat, commissioned from Pininfarina as a wedding gift to Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, president of Ferrari in 2002.
The name Barchetta (which roughly translates as ‘little boat’) refers to roofless, 2 seat sports cars like this one. This model is similar to the Ferrari 360 Spider, although the latter came with a removable bonnet, which while slightly less elegant, was certainly more practical.
