Chkalov Memorial Museum

Memorial museum of test pilot Chkalov was opened on the 7th of July 1940 in the house where the pilot was born and raised. In 1957 a pavilion-hangar was build near the house, it exhibits aircrafts of the 1930-s: airplanes ANT-25, I-16, I-17, U-2 and personal car of Chkalov - "Packard".

Small Russian aircraft museum with great and legendary airplanes. The most notable here is 1934 AHT 25, which was used by Russian pilots to cross North Pole and get from Russia to America. This great journey took 3 days and 10.000 km.

Ездили студентами в этот музей от политеха. Единственное, что запомнилось из поездки - отличное состояние здания музея, а то все наши музеи в каких то хибарах размещаются. К сожалению, все уже подзабылось, восстановил бы память.
