One of the transport pioneers of Carinthia was, of course, Georg Khevenhüller von der Burg Hochosterwitz. The distinguished inventor built a flying machine with a propulsion force only from a pilot’s muscles in 1914. This was the oldest plane and really continued to fly in this condition. A take-off site and a required speed to take off were necessary for the flying machine and it really took off about which the photos testify.

After the flying tests had been finished the flying machine was placed in the basement of Hochosterwitz castle. An outstanding historian Reinhold Gasper discovered there its remains. In the long run they managed to get the flying machine from the family Khevenhüller-Metsch for Historama. After elaborate restoration according to the existing initial drafts with the assistance of Villacher Firma as a sponsor the flying machine was ready to be employed. However, nobody including Historama, could not find a pilot for a trial flight.
