1948 STABEG Kleindraisine Type 48

Austrian Federal railways acquired a number of small track machines for control and simple maintenance in the 50s of the last century. The driver and the passenger in this type of car are situated side by side.
The back-wheel drive is performed by a small engine, produced by the company ROTAX. The peculiarity of this vehicle was the possibility to be exploited both for standard track gage (1,435 mm) and for narrow track (760 mm) in order to be able to change movement direction or remove the vehicle from the route in emergency. In the centre of the draizine there is a vertical post, which is activated with the help of the long lever (on the right of the front wheel near the driver’s seat).
