1955 Saurer Bergekran

Soon after the World War II the Austrian Post (Österreichische Post) in cooperatiton with the plant Saurer bought heavy trucks to tow broken post buses and mountain winches. The employment of these heavy trucks was very useful as all operations before it had been performed manually and had been very tiresome for the staff.
In 1969 this truck was replaced by a modern one with fully hydraulic actuators.

The company Adolph Saurer AG, founded in the town of Arbon, Switzerland was a manufacturer of trucks and buses under the brand names Saurer and Berna (beginning from 1929). The active production period lasted between 1903 and 1982. Their vehicles were widely used across mainland Europe, particularly in the interwar period.
