1960 Puch Farrad "Derby"

This bike Puch "Derby" in 1960 was the last construction of the bicycle with front drum brakes.

Puch is a manufacturing company located in Graz, Austria. The company was founded in 1889 by the industrialist Johann Puch and produced automobiles, bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles. It was a subsidiary of the large Steyr-Daimler-Puch conglomerate.
Johann Puch was distinguished during his military service in Graz as a bicycle mechanic. His first significant work after the service was the one for the company Luchscheider in Graz.
On his way to becoming a manufacturer Puch came through an employee on bicycles repair. It included the work for the company Graziosa Fahrradwerke Benedict Albl & Comp. Then he began to work as an independent contractor on bicycles assembling, sales and clients’ automobiles maintenance.
