This is a model of the G80 Matchless motorcycle with the JAP 250 сс engine of 1949 manufacturing year.
Matchless is one of the oldest marques of British motorcycles, manufactured in Plumstead, London, between 1899 and 1966.

JA Prestwich Industries was an English engineering company named after its establisher John Alfred Prestwich, which produced cinema equipment, combustion engines (for which the company had the abbreviation JAP) and other kinds of precision machinery industry.
The JAP delivered its engines to such famous motorcycle marques as Brough Superior, Triumph Motorcycles, A. J. Stevens & Co. Ltd, Enfield Cycle Co, Hazlewoods Limited, Zenith Motorcycles and HRD Motorcycles.
The JAP also exported a significant number of its engines to foreign manufacturers of motorcycles, including Dresch and Terrot in France and Ardie, Hecker and Tornax in Germany.

This motorcycle belonged to ROBERT MÜLLER, who had a particular passion for motorbikes and kept his collection in Tarviser Straße in Klagenfurt.
