220 S Cabriolet was produced in July 1956. 220 S Coupé came into the market in three months in October 1956.
The engine had the power of 74kW (100 hp) and thank to it the automobiles were in great demand. The interior attracted with a thin wooden dashboard, wood window frames, leather trim and air conditioning.
In August 1957 the improved versions of practically all types of this automobile model series were introduced. Even coupe 220 S Cabriolet was subjected to small changes and the engine power increased up to 78 kW (106 hp).
Beginning from September 1958 a coupe, a convertible and a sedan 220 SE were offered with a fuel-injected engine.
The production of the coupe 220 SE and the model Cabriolet stopped in November 1960. A new coupe succeded in February 1961 and a new cabriolet succeeded in August 1961.
