In 2006 Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant displayed an advanced off-road pickup UAZ-23602-050 at Moscow Motor Show. It is capable to carry about 800 kg of cargo, made on the base of the nodes and components of the UAZ Patriot and provided with a petrol injection engine ZMZ-409.10 of 128 hp. The version with a separate metal platform went into production. The production off-roaster got the name UAZ Cargo.
