The UAZ-3162 Simbir is a model of an off-road vehicle produced at Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant in 2000—2005. Essentially it is a lengthened version of the UAZ-3160. On August 5, 1997 the first prototype of the UAZ-3160 rolled off the assembly line, which was a predecessor of the Simbir. This car is an absolutely new model as for the UAZ-469 and the modifications on its base are concerned. The production continued till 2004. On April 27, 2000 the first production sample UAZ-3162 Simbir went out into the world featuring a long wheelbase and new Spacer axles from the UAZ-3160.
