1989 Lada Samara T3

Samara S-Proto appeared in 1989, putting out 350 hp (260 kW; 350 PS). Most notably, the Samara T3 came seventh in the 1990 Paris-Dakar Rally and fifth in 1991, piloted by none other than Jacky Ickx. The T3, however, didn't contain many Samara parts, using the Porsche 959's four-wheel drive system and a 3.6-litre Porsche flat-six. It was developed by French concessionaire Lada-Poch together with NAMI and the Tupolev aircraft factory. The coachwork was in plastic panels fixed on a spatial frame; the triangular lever of the suspensions were even realized by Tupolev, the well-known aeronautical industry.
