This powered foam tower is meant to deliver an appliance crew, fire-fighting equipment and agents to fire location. It is used for fire suppressing at large oil-processing plants, in underground and land storage tanks of oil handling terminals. The foam tower was developed on the base of the artillery tractor АТ-Т (product "401"), with the use of nodes and components of the tank Т-54 to provide a good cross-country ability. A four-seat, two-door cabin of a bonneted type is adopted from the auto-truck ZIS-150, but it differs from the cabin-prototype with a central insert ensuring an increased capacity (by 1 person). The cargo metal welded bed allowed to place an elevating swinging telescopic jib to the top of which the facilities for mechanical air foam application were fixed.
