Designed by Vittorio Jano, until 1923 designer at the Fiat Racing Department, the 8C 2300 model directly derived from the 6C 1750 but with more bent for racing. Its race debut at the 1931 Mille Miglia race was not so exciting but from the fol-lowing Targa Florio onwards a successful period began, especially with the “Monza” and “Le Mans” versions which make it today one of the most sought after car by the worldwide collectors.
The car shown in the museum is fitted with a body created by the prestigious Milanese coachbuilder Castagna.
