The customer competition version of the 365 GTB4 “Daytona” was built by the factory in three series of five cars from 1971 - 1973, each being a development of the preceding one. The model won the Tour de France Auto in 1972, took class wins at Le Mans in 1972, 1973 and 1974, and took 2nd overall in the 24 Hours of Daytona 1979.
