1913 Electrical locomotive GE 2/4 No 207

Electric locomotive Ge 2/4 no 207 Rhaetian Railway RhB 1913 For the early electrification of the Engadine line, the RhB ordered seven small locomotives. These are powered by a single, large motor. The torque of the low-speed motor of system Deri is transmitted directly to the coupling rods and thus to the power axles. This locomotive did therefore not need any gear drive. The advantage of the simple power transmission and motor control was however contrasted with a bad efficiency. During its 60 years of service, this locomotive underwent only minor modifications. BBC SLM 37 t 45 km/h 220 kW narrow-gauge 1000 mm restoration by RhB.
