Motobécane was a French manufacturer of bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, and other small vehicles, established in 1923. "Motobécane" is a compound of "moto", slang for motorcycle; "bécane" is slang for "bike."

First motorcycle has become a very simple in design model MB1 with an engine capacity of 175 cm3, which from 1929 to 1931 produced about 120,000 pieces. In addition to the 175 cc engine company used the English JAP engines of 250, 350 and 500 cc. In 1981, Motobécane filed for bankruptcy and was purchased by Yamaha and reformed in 1984 as MBK.
