1972 Ducati 750

In the early '70s Ducati began offering to buyers two-cylinder motorcycles. The engineer Fabio Taglione executed the development of such a motorcycle unconventionally and installed the engine in such a way that the front cylinder was horizontal, and the rear - vertical. Thus, he did not only succeed to lower the center of gravity, but also improved the efficiency of air cooling.

The first motorcycle of a "new era" became GT 750 shown in 1971. In 1972 the 750 Sport was presented, and in 1974 - SS 750 - a replica of a racing bike was introduced.
