In the 20's the railway networks had to look for alternatives to the traditional railway transport, because of the rising competition of the road. So the thermal railcars arose. These self-propelled vehicles are like a bus on iron rails. This model was acquired by Norte as a two-class light railcar to cover short and medium distances. It was transformed into a saloon car in the Vilanova workshop in 1955. when more modern models were available. It was assigned to the management of RENFE fifth zone in Barcelona for working visits. It has been painted in different ways: orange and grey in Norte, silver and green in RENFE, beige and red alter it's remodelling and, finally, the current colours in the 80's.
